What Is the L360?
Loss of muscle strength is a common problem after certain surgical procedures, such as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction and total knee replacement, as well as osteoarthritis of the knee and orthopaedic conditions. The L360 Thigh System is a medical device that may help with extension and flexion, so patients can build muscle strength and potentially speed their return to active lives.
Using two innovative technologies called neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) and functional electrical stimulation (FES), the L360 offers important benefits for patients:
- Strengthen quadriceps and hamstring muscles
- Improve knee stability
- Prevent or slow disuse atrophy
- Facilitate muscle re-education
- Maintain or increase joint range of motion
- Increase local blood flow
- Relax muscle spasms
The L360 Thigh System’s components:
- A lightweight cuff positioned on the thigh, either on the quadriceps or hamstrings, to facilitate knee extension or flexion
- A pulse generator with gyroscopic sensing that delivers precise stimulation through the thigh cuff to the nerves of the thigh muscles
